On Monday, June 1st, 2026, along upper Pescadero Canyon, a mirage of goats grazed alongside Pescadero Road in Carmel Woods. The Del Monte Conservancy of Pebble Beach, as they do annually, arranged for goats to mitigate the fuel load (eat weeds and grasses) and, in so doing, reduce the risk of a devastating wildfire.
We all wonder if these same goats could eat the same overgrown grasses and weeds along 2nd Avenue that borders the same Pescadero Canyon in Carmel-by-the-Sea?
Perhaps if we call it 'organic vegetation management,' it will get approved...
